Autopark Ortigia is located next to the Teatro Comunale and a short walk from the Cathedral. The city is rich in historical and artistic points of interest, which are easily reachable on foot. Syracuse and in particular the Island of Ortigia, which is its historic centre, are of primary historical and architectural importance, starting from the ancient Greeks, and then in the following ages: Roman, medieval, Byzantine, Arab, Spanish, Austrian, Bourbon, up to the Unification of Italy and the present day. This has favoured a considerable flow of tourists, which has been constantly growing.
To enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Sicilian sea, take a walk along the Passaggio Foro Vittorio Emanuele II or, on the opposite side of the island, along the Lungomare di Levante, along which you can admire the Church of the Spirito Santo and along which you can reach the beautiful Maniace Castle, a stone fortress on the sea dating back to the 13th century. From the centre of Ortigia, heading north, about 1.5 km away and reachable in about 20 minutes on foot, you can reach the beautiful Antico Foro Siracusano, the green lung of the city, with the adjacent Piazza Pantheon and the Church of Saint Thomas.
